THE DATE OF THE SMITH CO. BD OF EDUC. HAS NOT CHANGED.
THE BUDGET/FINANCE MEETING IN THE COURIER IS FOR THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
I THINK SOME MISUNDERSTOOD THIS TO BE THE BOE.

check out website www.michie.com
Scroll down to Tennessee. Click on Tennessee Codes. This will open a new window. Search for local government concerning education. There are a lot of Tennessee laws and codes concerning many topics. Everyone should read these. There are many loopholes that would be in our favor. We need to be very knowledgeable concerning any options. Thanks, Kellie

NSI has ordered T-shirts. They can be ordered in many sizes from
(youth) 2-4 T to (adult) XXXL
Call me to order yours today. A definate price has not been set, but they will not be over $7 each. I'm not sure if signs and fans have been ordered yet. T-shirts will be here Thur. or Fri. When they come in I'll call anyone that ordered. We need to decide on a place and time to hand out t-shirts.

Concerning the petition..........
Only 70 parents of NMS have signed our petition. This count includes both moms and dads. We have collected some signatures that only 1 parent has signed. I think when handing out t-shirts it would be a good time to update our petition. When I contact you for your shirt, bring family and friends to buy a shirt and sign the petition. This is a great opportunity to tie-up loose ends before our next meeting at BCCC. Thanks, Kellie

Is there any update regarding the meeting that we requested with the Board of Education for a question & answer meeting?? I do believe that they are the key to our success. If we have any hope for this year it will be because the board has put pressure on Mr. Lewis. I would love to hear from those that have contacted board members & what responses their getting.
Thanks, Jackie

Tell everyone you can think of to come to all of our meetings. Mark

We were denied a "question & answer" forum at the next board meeting. Mr. Pat Massey asked Mr. Lewis about the Q&A. His remarks were, "That is a dead issue. We won't be answering any questions."

Oh my said...

Bingo!! You concerns are not the concerns of the board.

Please forgive my blogging ignorance. I'm all over the place trying to learn this stuff. Your concerns about Mrs. Hackett are well-known in the community. Your work will not go unnoticed. The board has a recent history of simply allowing many things to happen that I believe should be checked. The power of the leadership is unchecked all to often.I want you all to be reminded that in the end the elected will answer to the people.
